Getting back on track

Thursday, February 02, 2017

This isn't going to be a really long blog. More of a rant to myself, really. But why is it so hard to get back on track after a setback? I was doing SO good with the exercising, and the eating right, and the no soda... but then I got sick and was down for a week, and while I am still fighting some bronchitis, I have been horrible with my eating, drinking soda, and definitely not working out. It's like life plays a mind game with you. Doing really good for a couple of weeks and bam! no more.

Just some whining... The bottom line is, I need to just do it. Get back on that horse and stop complaining about my setbacks.

I am the same way. When I don't feel good I turn to things that make me feel good and the choices depend on what's ailing me. For example: sore throat it's ice cream because it makes my throat feel better for a little while. Plus I like mac and cheese because it slides down easily and doesn't aggravate my throat.
I am struggling to get back on track too after several set backs the last couple months but we can do this together. Let's lean on each other for encouragement and support and just get out there an do it.

I do the same doggone thing when I get really ill. I don't know why and it makes me really upset with me. I think it might have something to do with comfort. We comfort ourselves with food and when we are sick, we need more comfort. I think we have to learn new ways to comfort ourselves. A warm blankie and a good snuggle in bed would be better than returning to our old food habits. It's not easy though - at all!

You've realized it now though and can get back on track! That's the great thing about it is that there is always the next day or hour or meal! You got this!

emoticon We all want our health problems to resolve "overnight," but truth is, it took more than a night to get us in the condition we are in. We can do this, but we must be patient. It is great you are getting back on track. Keep sparking!
