5% Challenge: Revelations from Two Weeks of Work

Thanks to the 5% Challenge, I am posting my weight to a thread each Saturday. This can be intimidating at first...until you realize that we are truly all in this together. Once over the intimidation factor, I discovered that tracking weigh-ins can be quite affirming.

Here is what mine looks like:
1/14: 156.2
1/21: 155.2
1/28: 154.0

Now, technically, I've "only" lost 2.2 pounds over the last two weeks. Two pounds doesn't sound like a lot of payoff for two weeks of good habits. (In fact, when I celebrated a two-pound weight loss once, a co-worker snarkily remarked that I had probably just taken a big poo.) But there's a far more positive way of looking at this change.

For two weeks, I've tracked my food -- good and bad -- and felt okay with my decisions.
For two weeks, I've noted when I haven't gotten fitness minutes in and worked harder to find the me-time needed to go work out.
For two weeks, I've had a supportive community of Starfish who celebrate every healthy decisions and whoop it up when a pound is lost.
For two weeks, I've built up natural habits like drinking water (just took a big gulp while writing) and tracking BEFORE I eat (which curbs my binge-eating impulse.)

And, here's the kicker! After two fantastic weeks of feeling good, eating well, exercising, and hanging out on the team page, I ALSO lost 2.2 pounds. What a well-earned bonus!
