Oh My Goodness, Where in the world has time gone already?!?!?!?????!!!! It's almost February!! I have been so unbelievably busy since the first of the year.
We have made so many wonderful changes within our little family since the first of the year. Tami and I are now getting up each morning and starting our day off by reading and discussing the Bible together, we have individual studies with kids from the Bible and then every Saturday we are doing a family worship night. We have implemented a household assignment where all electronics are turned off at 6:00pm, and we spend more family time together each night wither talking, watching a movie, playing a game or something. All positive changes that are reaping wonderful results.
We have had also had some hardships in January, but the good has helped us to deal with them in a positive way. For one, the major snow and bitter cold temperatures caused us to have 4 breaks in our frozen water pipes. We did some patch jobs to try to get us through the winter, but unfortunately, the pipes froze again. So, we had to have our entire house re-piped to solve the issue. The good news is that it got done quickly and we put in all new flexible hose lines that should not freeze up and we shouldnt have to worry about that again for a long time. We have also had to replace some plumbing fixtures in the house. Needles to say, our plumbing is done. In the process however, we were informed that we have some very shoddy wiring throughout the house and we will need to rewire the entire house this summer to avoid the risk of an electrical fire that could potentially burn down our house. Our cooking stove has gone out, so now we have had to buy a new stove that will be delivered next week.
Then there is the continuing saga with my mom. She is not doing well here. The frigid winter has caused her much misery with pain and depression. We have decided that this wet and cold climate is not good for her. So, I am moving her to California in March. She will be living with her Aunt for noiw. She will only be a 12 hour drive away, so that's not too bad. Hopefully, the warmer weather and climate will lesson her pain and depression and help her have a better quality of life. We are worried and scared about her going, but she is still mentally competent and can make her own decisions. We will see how this works out.
That is just scratching the surface of everything that has happened since the first of the year. But again, the positive changes have far outweighed the bad and with the help of our wonderful God, we have been able to face them with our heads held high and have weathered all the storms. We are convinced that He can and will continue to give us the power beyond what is normal to get through anything that comes along.
Have a great week!
