Tuesday's Musings

Tuesday, January 24, 2017

I've been thinking about food... well, obsessing just a bit. Weight has been an issue with me for as long as I can remember. Fatter sometimes, less fat othertimes. Still always fat. Not asking for pity... I'm just not here to mince words. You know, the truth will set you free and all that. And fat people think about food... well, at least this fat girl does.

Two things come to mind as I think about food right after having breakfast...

"No one has ever starved to death between breakfast and lunch... that was a revelation to me." Amy, Overeater's Anonymous.

"I just really need to know how to count bananas when I'm tracking. I love them and don't want to eat too many and gain weight" Member at my Weight Watcher's meeting years ago, literally in a panic about the banana thing. "Uhhh, I don't think any of us are here because we ate too many bananas." WW leader to member.

Went to your blog thinking this was a new entry.
    Not new, but still relevant.
How is intuitive eating working for you lately?

Love your honesty. We are all amazing and loved, period. Our weight doesn’t matter, but our health sure does and also our happiness. I choose to focus on becoming fit and healthy to be the best version of myself. Everything in moderation! 😊❤️

I do think a lot about food too. And at times, I am able to just pass by food I really like without noticing and craving it. And other times, if I go in the supermarket, I know I'll convince myself to buy some!
And no, no one ever died from starving in between breakfast and lunch.. but it's damn uncomfortable to get to lunch with a rumbling stomach - so let's pack a good snack =)

Well...the banana thing is interesting. If you count calories (like I do...lots of people don't), I have never been able to estimate the size of a banana. So, I started weighing them and sometimes I only eat a half. But, different people have hangups about different things and even though eating too many bananas isn't making me fat, I still weigh them. Isn't that silly? Wonder why I don't weigh everything else in the world! Maybe I should give it a try. LOL emoticon

Bananas are really high in carbs, but dh has to have one every day or he gets leg cramps. I have 1/2 of a banana every day in my smoothie. Yum, just don't go overboard and eat 12/day lol
