Today is the very first weigh in day of the Winter 5% challenge, and, not surprisingly, the scale is up.
Confession: I AM A DAILY WEIGHER.
Why? Because I loooooove data. I'm a numbers girl, and I'm very observant of patterns. So no, I'm not surprised that the scale was up this week, because last week was TOM. My weight is generally the lowest of the month right before TOM, then slowly climbs until ovulation, then drops again before the next TOM. This is my pattern.
I also have a decent case of DOMS today, so I'm sure I'm retaining water to heal up from that. I worked out quite hard this week, as I felt strong and willing to challenge myself. I had a FitBit deficit most days this week and wound up with a deficit of about 1300 calories.
Also, at the beginning of this challenge, I have started eating more. For a long time now I've eaten at a much higher deficit, averaging 1800 calories eaten a day, and still working out a bunch, and the scale only bounced between a few numbers, so I'm experimenting with eating more. I attached my activity to my Spark calories and most days have trouble eating enough to get to the bottom limit, but I need to make sure I haven't wrecked my metabolism, so I'm trying this. Here's my data for the week:
The challenge is Saturday - Friday so my total Fitbit deficit was -1309 and my polar flow total calories burned were 1,666.
Things I Need To Work On:
-stretching to reduce doms
Things I Have On Point:
-water intake (20 cups/day)
Will update again next Saturday!
