I walked today!
Friday, January 20, 2017
I was still in my pajamas, shorts & a tank top. It's about 80 degrees & muggy. The mosquitos are the size of squirrels, I've pulled sticks & small pieces of trees & pine needles out of my hair & clothes.
My walking path is still there, after over 6 months of neglect. It hasn't let me down. I watered my hibiscus trees, some which are half dead because of hurricane trauma, but I still hope they will survive.
I walked .75 miles in a half hour. Yeah, that's pretty slow but keep in mind that I had to use my walking stick to move felled branches & pine cones & other debris out of the way. Leaves & dog "piles" to maneuver around made it a "keep an eye on your steps" exercise. I even forgot my cat's name when I got close to the fence where he was lazing around. So evidently I wasn't breathing properly.
And Joe and I are on track to quit smoking next Friday. We both got our Chantix prescriptions. We're putting the legal troubles we had with my step-daughter behind us and putting the stress-killers (and lung-killers) down.
She really drove us around on a crazy, winding, EXPENSIVE, legal road and went right back to the idiot that put her in that position. Sometimes you just have to step away and let brand-new-adults be just that, and let the chips fall where they may. We are done. She's grown, and we're in immense debt. (Another great reason to quit smoking!)
My father had a heart ablation surgery this week. His heart is in really bad shape. He was born with a hole in it & even with his pacemaker, only half of his heart was working. So I'm going to back off ankle surgery & going to see s cardiologist instead and see what I can do to avoid the same path.
Okay... that's my rant for the day. New president, new regimen, more nerve ablations & my commitment to my husband, family & health. And to myself! (Someone tell Joe to put the Cheetohs away, please!!
Stay sane people!
