I Just Noticed.....

I like myself and the rest of the world a whole lot more after I have done yoga stretches.

I know, it sounds weird. But before you join the Doubting Thomas Club, give it a try.

I was kind of grumpy today. Then I ate a bowl of fruit salad. Felt a bit better. Then I went to Flicka (my computer) and signed in to Spark.

There was Day 1 for a new team, and the workout today was to do yoga stretches.

"Oh Good! I don't feel like doing any of those stupid exercises today. My body is a bit stiff all over from over doing it yesterday. But I CAN and WILL do the stretches."

Ah, stretch one felt so good I went a bit over the time suggested. Then I looked at the screen and saw the second stretch. "Oh, I LIKE that one!" and did it happily.

On to stretch 3: "Oh, I know THIS one! Haven't done it in a long time!" Good stuff!!!

Stretch 4: "Oh yeah. I used to do this one every day. That was a loooooong time ago. I'll give it a try." Ah, peace. Ah, good.

Stretch 5: "Of course, this would be the natural one to close off the stretch exercise. I think I will do it a bit longer, and while I am down there, I can doing some long lost praying for myself".

Oh Peace! Oh Joy! Oh Bliss!

I am proud of myself for doing this, including praying for myself for a change, and I honor myself in my place in the world. There is a quietness inside, a gentle mood of co-operation.

I never looked at yoga this way before. I never noticed my mind change after yoga to this degree before. I never noticed how important it is toward my attitude of the world and others before and after yoga.

Quite a CHANGE, that's for sure!

Now I will go gently into the day.

    I like yoga too and have often noticed it can change my mood !

    This makes me so happy for you! I started practicing yoga 2 1/2 years ago and it has been a saving grace for my body, spirit, and soul. I can do it when the weather is inclimate, when I don't feel well, or when I'm injured. I can do it on my own, with the many free videos online, or at the studio with others.
