Day 99 - 100 Days of Gratitude

Saturday, January 14, 2017

I am very grateful that I was watching the Oprah Show one day years ago while she was interviewing a young man who said he had designed a website for people who wanted to improve their health, lose weight, become more fit. He saw that most sites that did this charged a fee, and he wanted his to be free. He wanted it to function as a community of support. I wrote down the name of his website... Sparkpeople.

Since joining Sparkpeople in the fall of 2011, I have developed SEVERAL eating plans -- there are so many teams offering support for various plans; I have adopted SEVERAL fitness plans -- there are so many articles, videos, links to other sites offering practice. And I have lost the weight SEVERAL times. And now I know my pattern, so I will just keep doing it and NEVER QUIT!

Losing the weight and getting fit was my reason for coming to Sparkpeople, but the value I've reaped from it far exceeds those initial reasons. Sparkpeople attracts my kind of PEOPLE. It must be that the ones that don't fit here don't stay, because all of the SparkFriends I've made have brought something enlightening, inspiring and uplifting to my life. And I am SO GRATEFUL to each one of you for sharing your trials, your successes, your families, your jobs, your dieting flops, your eating plans that work... with me. How MANY ideas for my life have I gotten from one of your blogs or comments on a Sparkpage! All this sharing makes it feel as if we are a loving family. And I have grown so close to several of you that I feel we have a solid bond.

I am grateful for you all.

PREACH...my sista! You are the sunshine that makes me smile! I love all of your gratitude blogs and your sunny and positive outlook on life! I also love when you share your adventures and when you go above and beyond a virtual friend and become a tried and true one that wants my success every bit as much as I want yours! There are such SPECIAL people here in Sparkworld...Sparkguy overshot his good intentions with support for health and weightloss...he buildt a virtual family...my hats are off to him!

Now if only we could have our own little spark community where we were all neighbors and had our own gardening, our own security, our own composting heap, and most of all the ability to do our own spark thing in only the way that SPARKIES can do. Oh...my...what a beautiful world it would be!

Love you sunshine! Love you to the moon around it 50 times and back again! emoticon emoticon emoticon We are family...all my brothers and spark sistas! emoticon

We are in it to win it together. I didn't know spark guy was on Oprah. I just found the site because I knew I had to track to lose weight. I agree that it had so much more. We are so lucky to be able to mentor each other back and forth and I wouldn't have found you without Spark People. I love you Jonnie
