Ok so it has been awhile...

I can't believe how far I have come in a year... I was looking forward to seeing what 2016 would bring and it has brought me a lot.

1. I am starting to live life again.
Taking control of my life and choosing to have weight loss surgery has been one of the best choices I have made. Without it I don't thing any of the things that are on this list would have been possible. This was definitely the best choice for me.
2. I have found the love of my life.
Dave and I have been together for just over four months now. I know it may seem a bit silly to be calling him the love of my life at this point but we have know each other for 23years and have been friends that entire time. He is my best friend and a fabulous partner. I have never been so happy with someone in my life. Best part is he has liked me no matter what my size and has been one of the biggest supporters on my journey.
3. Although I still have some things to over come my health is so much better.
I am no longer diabetic. There is a one in front of my weight for the first time in 20 years. The only meds I take are vitamins and stuff to help me poop. I don't have a doctors appointment two or more times a month. I no longer have sleep apnea. Overall my daily life is much better and easier.
4. New family members and friends have joined my life this year.
It is always a blessing to add new babies to the family and I have two new great nieces this year. Also with Dave in my life I have a new circle of friends that I really enjoy. The man has good taste in friends. After all look who he picked for a girlfriend. emoticon

So over all this year has been one of the best of my life. I am looking forward to seeing what 2017 has to bring my way. If it's even half as good as last year, I will be exceptionally happy by the end.

Normally I would end this blog here, but as I don't get on the computer as much as I used to I will also mention that my biggest health concern right now is my knees. I need replacements for both of them do to all the weight I have carried on them all my life. I am so young though that is not what my doctors want to do. I am now trying physical therapy to try to help them but surgery may be the only option. I was told that exercise will not be a big help in my continued weight loss. I really can't do much because my knees just can't handle it. I will figure this out though and just keep moving forward.

I hope everyone had a great holiday season and hope all the best for you in the new year. Let's all make it the best one of our lives!

You have so many options for exercise that don't require strong knees. Think Water Exercise or Chair exercises. Now that you have a new workout partner, the possibilities are endless. Physical therapy can be helpful, depending on the therapist. I prefer Sports physical therapists, because there is less pain-

You are going to have a GREAT 2017. Please stay in touch- I put your picture showing the potatoes on my vision board. WHOOO HOO! emoticon
