It gets better

Friday, January 13, 2017

At least that's what I'm telling myself lol. It will get better, it does get better, and by golly I will get better at this. It's simply amazing the hold certain addictions can have over you. Carbs are horrible little things.

It's definitely a transition. Have more on days than off days and you'll wean yourself. I only have bread or pasta or other grain-based carbs a couple times a week now (rather than like 5 servings a day like I used to). The cravings do go away over time (I've been at this since May).

From your other blogs you are on about day 11. If that is day 11 of low carbs then the worst of the transition is over. Just how many grams of carbs are you eating a day now?

I eat about 30 to 40 grams a day. I could go lower, but I like a few things for variety. I had some low carb pancakes for breakfast, made from protein powder, so probably 2 grams in the 3 pancakes, with some low carb maple syrup, again about 2 or 3 in that. Then my coffee with whipping cream in that, another gram or so. It slowly adds up. I do find that my pancakes, which are not made with wheat flour, but with protein powder, don't trigger any carb craving behaviour.

All in all, it does get better. You are at the point where it is now psychological and not physical.

I agree because I get a craving and want to just forget everything I'm trying to accomplish but I tough it out. Good luck on your journey
