Thursday, January 12, 2017
Monday arrives and its chilly but the sun is out time to get out and enjoy the day need to check errands off the list so we can enjoy our last day Drop paper work off at Knights of Columbus hall let the adventure began a mystery for me
Shortly we joining others in the hunt for a parking space at Red Rock State Park. It’s a rock formation to outside Denver and usually one of the sites you see when you Denver play a home game . you can see down town Denver the air port pikes peak to name a few spots you can pick out on a clear day. Parking spot found on the side of the road we were off to check out the visitor center and the view point and attack the Stairs.
Off I go
Climbing Red Rocks Amphitheater’s steep steps, one can get enjoy exercising here everyday The steps
were functionally designed to enhance and preserve the site’s natural beauty. In 1941 Runners and those wanting to enjoy the out doors descend on the venue’s seats and steps It's 192 steps from top to bottom and of course you need to get back to the top and walk to the car the information out side the visitors center says enjoy your 5 K trip ! if you parked and walked into the Amphitheatre area we parked in that area .
The last time we were here 2011 I could not do the stairs sat and waited for Tom to do them and get pictures . This trip I Rocked the Stairs. I used the set that had a railing to hang onto he rocked them using set with out hand rails he was surprised to see me not far behind. I deiced it easier Much easier going back up! and after a water break and pictures we headed back to the car . I hope you enjoy the pictures of our adventure
Tom came down the hard way
over his shoulder you see the steps i used had the hand rail
I did it
off we go back to the top
I made it back to the top all 392 steps we did a 5k by the time we got back to the car and headed back to Aurora
