Reboot - Starting over

Ack - at my heaviest since pregnancy, closing in on how heavy I was during pregnancy.

So many excuses - but the main one is I'm tired and having a hard time keeping my motivation up. But looking in the mirror last night, and stepping on the scale . . . I didn't like what I saw. And I don't like what I feel. I'm tired all the time, I ache, I feel over all gross.

I have a doctor's apt next month anyway, so I'll get all my labs done and make sure there is nothing medically holding me back. But in the meantime:

1. My primary goal this week is tracking. It is one of my weak spots, and I know its important to do.
2. Get my kitchen cleaned up and all the junk out of it. Restock with healthier alternatives.
3. Cook simple, healthy meals - I know if I go overboard with complex recipes I'll get frustrated but lean meats and veggies are easy to prepare, don't make a lot of mess and taste good.

On a side note, my husband's blood pressure was up at his last doctor visit. So we want to try addressing that with diet/exercise before going on meds. So while I know I need to make the changes for myself, it will benefit him too.

I have a gift certificate for a massage, that is my reward for meeting my first weight goal. For reaching my goal of tracking for one week, my reward will be a new plant. I love gardening but haven't started bringing plants into the home. But this is something I want to do.

So - goals set, weight recorded, breakfast recorded, snack planned . . . off we go.
