Four weeks already?? New Year and new focus!

I'm excited to report that I had a pretty good week. I restarted this "journey" in December after a wonderful family vacation where I had a fun time but also felt frumpy and "blah" half the time. It wasn't something that really got in the way of fun and celebrating my Grandmother's 100th birthday--more like an annoying humming in the background. (It makes sense in my head---not sure it does on the page though!) Anyway, that set the mind and body in motion and four weeks later I've lost 8lbs which is fabulous. My goal is to average 1lb a week---but I'm very very happy to have a little bit of a cushion building up so that when I go on a vacation / conference trip to Houston in February I'll have some "wiggle room"!
Goals for this past week:
10k steps: did great (2 week streak)
treadmill at least a mile every day: did great! (1 week streak)
30+ minutes of fitbit activity: also did great! (1week streak)
Making sure I hit these targets is something I really struggle with after working a 12 or 13 hour day. I get up at six....and I'm NOT (not not not not) getting up earlier. I don't get enough sleep as it is because I'm not great at falling asleep. I aim for 7 hours in bed--but my fitbit tells me the actual avg sleep is probably 6.5h during the week. I get home between 7 and 8 and somewhere between my hubs and I we make/eat dinner and have some downtime. This week I've been walking on my treadmill after dinner which has worked out well but I have to be careful not to get myself too revved up or I'll have even more trouble falling asleep than usual!
I use my fitbit dashboard to motivate me--and I'm happy with all the green I've achieved this week. Now my goal is to be able to keep a streak going so that even when I look at a month view it is all green!
Many thanks to my SP friends who are encouraging me and motivating me EVERY day!
