Yes, I do have a long term goal of losing about 70 pounds this year. I want to be at a weight my doctor would approve of. I want to feel more comfortable in my own skin. I want to know that when someone catches me in a photo, I won't be embarrassed. I want to be able to walk into any clothing boutique without having to ask, " Do you carry anything in my size?" I want to make the load lighter for my feet and knees.
I also need to set some interim goals first. Small steps lead to great strides, right?
I'm going to focus on ten percent of my body weight at a time. My first 10% goal is 22 pounds. Two pounds a week is a reasonable weekly goal.
This first month will be about forming some habits. My goals for January are:
1. Log in to SparkPeople and watch the video of the day every day.
2. Track food every day. If I go over my intake range, that's something I need to own and be accountable for--without getting sucked into a self-defeating spiral.
3. Meet my daily step goals with the Fitbit.
4. Knowing my tendency to obsess over fluctuations in numbers, I'll be avoiding the scale 6 days a week. My weigh-in day will be Saturday.
I think that's enough to start with. :-)
