2016 is on its way out!

Although this year has had some stinky manifestations to it, I have put it to good use. I had to have my right hip replaced in April, which makes me more bionic than not, lol. I have my own shoulders, wrists, and ankles--although some of those have required surgical interventions. My knees, hips, thumbs, and my cervical and my spine from S3-T4 have all been reinforced with man-made metals. I attend weekly WW meetings and have stayed in the correct range around my goal weight for a long time.
I retired from 34 years of teaching with a partly conflicted heart. I have replaced that job with a part time job at Walgreens where I work my shift on my feet without any assistive devices. (12+ years of a walker or cane.... I walk unassisted now!) I volunteer in the surgical waiting room at the hospital and in two of their gift shops. I volunteer at the school where our son teaches and I tutor kids in reading and math. I started a reading program for inner city kids at our church where I also work in the food pantry. I became a deacon 4 months ago and have been elected to be on the church council in the new year. I have found wonderful ways to give back and I have had a variety of people who love my best effort and who treat me wonderfully--no more of the evil that my last principal inflicted upon me day after day.
I am very happy in my skin these days. I wish the same for each of you and all I can offer is to tell you to stick with it. I have lost and maintained a 180 pound weight loss after and during many surgeries and these life changes. Good will happen and it is more than worth the efforts you put into it.
Sending blessings all round!
