Christmas Eve Day

Saturday, December 24, 2016

Today is prep day. I don't feel like spending half of Christmas Day in the kitchen so I'll prep as much as possible today. I have the chicken broiler all set to barbecue tomorrow, a dozen small white potatoes are all scrubbed and cut for roasting a lb. of green beans are all washed and ready. I feel like a bit of a speed freak as this was all done by 6 AM this morning. I took the dog for a hike before the rain started and got some wood in to keep dry and us warm.

I am still trying to figure out why I am so down. I won't dwell on it and keep busy and see what happens.

Unlike a good portion of the country, we have no snow and are not expecting any for the next 2 weeks anyway. Sticking 28 miles out into the Atlantic usually keeps the temp higher than inland. Still nothing with the part time job hunt. If I don't find something before Trump gets sworn in, I doubt there will be much to look for after. A lot of companies in the state are cutting back on everything as they are unsure how the economy is going to affect this state
which is blue blue.

A merry Christmas to all

I had never heard of a Blue State so I googled it.

Does that really make a difference?

Good luck with the Job Search. Do you have a Walmart locally? They hire everybody down here.

Merry Christmas Bob - may you be totally blessed in 2017

That's my kind of planning ahead for holiday meals. emoticon
When one can prep ahead then it's less stressful doing it all at once.
I roasted garlic today and will wash and soak 5 lbs of red potatoes for tomorrows feast. I'll trim the ham, decorate with pineapples & cherries, glaze then refrigerate overnight then tomorrow morning I'll pop it in the oven.

Blue state here as well. Lots of people unsure of what the future holds. Hope you find a part time position that works out for you.

Many people feel blue during the holidays. It may have something to do with those we have lost over the years or just the state of our country and instability in the world.
    Your meals sounds delicious.
Happy Holidays to you and your wife. emoticon emoticon emoticon
