Wow has the time flown by! It's hard to believe that the year is almost gone. But the last half of this year has been the most amazing journey I have ever been on!
It's amazing that one simple change could make this much difference in a persons life. Add to that life changing surgery and your whole world is turned upside down and inside out. I have finally come to terms with the new person I am becoming on the outside. I just have to remind myself everyday when I look in the mirror that the person on the inside hasn't changed.
I can't believe the things I am able to do now! Just six months ago, I was in a wheelchair with my body slowly dying. Today, I am a leaner person who is learning that my body is capable of doing almost anything I need it do. I spent four hours yesterday outside shoveling snow in our driveway to make a clear path for our car to get in and out. A now pack that was easily 6 inches deep, a driveway 20 feet long and the path about 6 feet wide. ABSOLUTELY CRAZY! I have never been this healthy in my entire life! I was 300 pounds by the age of 12.
Today is weigh in day and I still can't believe the wonderful progress I have made. I lost another 3.8 pounds this week! I am now down over 122 pounds in just over 7 months, most of which has been lost since I had surgery 5 1/2 months ago. That means I have lost 75% of the weight I need to lose to reach my goal weight! I can't stress enough though that I could not have made it this far without the most amazing supporting cast.... My wife, family and friends and most of all my God.
