Life is such a gift!

Wednesday, December 14, 2016

I'm grateful to be up walking, able to care for myself and recovered enough to have a tiny spark of ambition to get myself healthy and in shape again. In August of last year I was in a very bad car accident, was flown by life-flight to the University of Utah and spent 10 weeks unable to walk on my own 2 legs, wearing a hard cervical neck brace to heal my broken C2 vertebrae and healing a 3rd degree burn on my leg from the engine block coming in on me. As the crash was taking place I Remember praying to God to let me have more time with my babies and husband. My prayer has been answered, so now it's time to start respecting this second chance I've been given and do all I can to make my body as heathy as possible.

It won't be easy, I have to rebuild and strengthen much of my core muscles, there are exercises I cannot do because of the injury to my spine and grocery shopping is no longer an easy chore (but it's getting better). I'm hindered in buying healthy choices because our market in our tiny town has very little fresh vegetable and fruit selections. I will have to work on solutions to that little problem. I'm setting a realistic goal of a pound a week and coming back here for the great support you all provide.

So here's to fresh starts and answered prayers.

OH, my goodness gracious...you have been through a lot.
You are so right to respect this second chance.
All of those are just problems to be solved.
You have accomplished so much already...you can do this!
