Thyroid Update

Wednesday, December 07, 2016

Well I got news that my thyroid was normal despite some nodules on my thyroid. I have to go back in a year to get them checked again. I guess I'm not too worried about them. My sister has them. My aunt also has them and they both have had them for years with no issues.

The only thing that I find strange is the fact that my numbers were off in the emergency room and now they are normal again?? How does that happen?

Anyway, I wasn't really experiencing symptoms of hypo or hyper really. My biggest issue that I had was my heart acting up after eating all that bad food.

I had another small episode this week. It calmed down after a few minutes but leading up to that, I had a ton of bloat in my chest and I had been burping for hours with no relief.

Today I've tried a couple things. I tried one peppermint oil capsue. I'm also starting my anti-fungals today. I have had more diarrhea. I'm convinced I have issues with gestational malabsorption but I don't know what is causing it and I have so many issues with it that I don't know how to treat it so I'm going to be booking an appointment with a gastro specialist.

Since a week and a half ago I've been on a lower sugar program and I've lost almost 12 pounds so I'm happy about that.

Those nodules are very common. Thyroid lab results notoriously have problems, especially if people are taking meds as it matters when you take the meds and when they do the lab. It can be off when you have certain acute medical problems, especially that interfere with eating but other conditions too. When the problem is resolved the number often goes back to normal. Certain meds can skew the results. Plus different labs sometimes have different normal ranges.

I still think that your heart rate was caused by direct stimulation.

Good job on the weight loss! Getting rid of sugar will definitely help.

Thyroid issues stink! Peppermint oil is great, I use it too along with digestzen blend too. I would be lost without them haha! I use oils for my thyroid too but still take meds too but have been able to lower my dosage. Congrats on the 12 lbs!
