Post-Thanksgiving Update and Stress Eating
Sunday, November 27, 2016
My dietary changes have gone really, really well. Until yesterday.
On Thanksgiving morning I ran my very first officially timed 5k, a Turkey Trot! I was nervous that I wasn't going to do well, but I'd told myself if I made a sub 40-minute time I'd be happy. I surprised myself and ran the whole way and finished in 32:29.3! I was so proud of myself! That was almost 10 minutes behind the winner but I wasn't worried about competing with more seasoned runners, just with myself, so I was definitely a winner in my own mind.
I cooked a healthy Thanksgiving dinner afterwards, and was super stuffed after one plate.
Then we went to my Godmother's house for dessert and I was well-behaved there, too, having one piece of pecan-hazelnut pie, one piece of pumpkin pie and one mock Baby Ruth cookie. I ate over my range but with running the 5k I still had a deficit.
Friday at work was dead, which is sad. Small businesses like ours just can't compete against the big box stores. We had a $0 income day. Saturday was very stressful at work for me. We took money in, which is good, but our Showroom Manager decided that something I said to him was ridiculous and I was overreacting. He laughed in my face and told me not to get my panties in a bunch and I gave him a piece of my mind. I've worked for my boss for 7 years, and he's only been with us 6 months. He needs to learn I don't abide that sort of bullsh*t. Respect me and I will respect you. Still, when I got home I had a binge session, which I'm 100% positive was related to that stress.
Then I ate my delicious dinner, a Gobbler sandwich, and binged some more on Eggnog ice cream. Everything was delicious at least, and I logged every bite.
I logged everything all week, which is very good for me! I still had a deficit for the week, though only 908 calories. I hope you're all doing well!
