It's all about Self Awareness!

Sitting here trying to think about what to write made me realize that what we are all really doing here is coming to terms with SELF AWARENESS!
In some way we have come to the conclusion that something has to change in our lives. Whether it be weight, health, attitude, perception, coping, or perspective, we all have something that needs to be changed in order to move forward in our lives.
I know that I was struggling with falling into a sedentary routine and making excuses NOT to do the things that I visualized and wanted myself to actually be doing. I lost my job in August due to down sizing and dept. restructuring. Over 300 emps. were laid off. I was devastated and surprised (didn't see it coming) but didn't let it overwhelm me. I was able to accomplish all the steps needed to navigate through the unemployment maze and able to get much help that I needed to survive.
BUT it takes time and 4 months later, still with no job prospects in sight, the fear and worry are creeping up on me. It's not easy to remain upbeat and positive when things are not going well. But I give it my best 'shot' everyday.
So I decided to stop making excuses for better health and weight loss by joining this site. I'm hoping that it will not only help me with my weight loss goal but actually help me to feel better about myself and give me some hope.
Self Awareness is not only about recognizing your faults or weaknesses BUT also your strengths and positive attributes that will help make the move forward to more happiness easier to attain.
