Tough few weeks

Wednesday, November 23, 2016

The last few weeks have not been good for me. My husband was in a very low depression(11 weeks) I had the doctor down to see him and we was put onto a new mental health team, last week the psychiatrist visited (an emergency visit only took a week), only trouble was that he was on a high by the time they came so it did not go as planned.
Diet wise over the last 6 months I have put on 6-7 pounds, I know it is not much but I really struggled over 3-4 years to lose it and it feels like I am going back to the start.

Thank you to all of you. Re me time I go swimming several times a week and I go to several craft groups or at least I try to when I can.

I have been a caregiver, and I can't emphasize enough how important it is to look after yourself. It's easy to put all your energy into the patient, but you have to keep yourself healthy in order to keep up the task. I know.

It is hard on you working with your husband. That stress and strain isn't good for dieting. Be nice to yourself, do what you can for you and remember if you don't take care of you, you can't take care of hubby.

Why do they always perk up when they see the Dr. I never understood. I am here if you want to talk. I know how hard it is to stay positive when they are so down. Hugs

Hang in there. You're going through a lot with your husband. Try not to eat to stuff your feeling - before you eat something ask yourself if you are hungry. If not, you're eating not to deal with your emotions. Talk to a friend about your feelings.

Stress can do that to you and I'm assuming you are stressed out taking care of your husband. Try to get some "me" time in even if it's just going to get a mani/pedi. A weekend trip would be even better.
