Any Ideas

Haven't seen any loss in a long time . If anything I go up a lb here and there. Very frustrated. Doesn't help that one of my jobs is a fast food place so surrounded by food. Going back for a follow up in january regarding my thyroid.....gonna talk to the dr then about my lack of weight loss. In the meantime need to try whatever I can . Don't really wanna go with diet pills due to health complications they can cause. Alot of people recommend low carb or the if fasting but I have spells where I think my sugar drops and I get shaky, etc. so don't think those would be a good thing to do. I remember years ago when I was at my heaviest I would allow myself if I was hungry between meals to have unlimited fruits and veggies. Not sure that shakes would be a good idea cause I am one that prefers to eat over a drink. I probably need to set an exercise and or step goal to try to be more active somehow but sometimes my fibromyalgia makes me hurt to the point I don't feel I can do any exercise or have no energy. I am just a mess. Cannot give up on trying because then I know I will just balloon up back to my highest weight that I was years ago and I can remember how miserable I was then.

    I agree with MORTICIAADDAMS. Sleep is key, too. You won't lose weight if you have lots of stress hormones that gets rinsed out by good sleep. Hard to control, yes, but strive to do as well as you can. We're rooting for you, Alicia! emoticon

    As an R.N. I can affirm that lower carb is recommended for hypoglycemia You don't have to do real low carb to get benefits. My doctor recommended 125gms of net carbs a day. Studies show that I.F. actually helps hypoglycemia too. They both got rid of mine. Unlimited fruits and veggies without protein will cause the problems you suggested. Exercise actually is the best approach for fibromyalgia. You can't out exercise a poor diet. It is 80% diet and 20% exercise. You need to calculate your calorie range for someone of your weight and activity level and stay within it while avoiding foods that cause cravings and hunger. Eat chiefly lean meat, low or moderate glycemic veggies, low or moderate glycemic fruits, seeds, nuts, healthy fats like olive oil and avocado, a couple servings of dairy a day, a serving of beans a day, an occasional serving of long cooking brown rice or quinoa. Nix the wheat, cereal, bread, pasta, sugar, junk food, fast food, processed food. You need to drink lots of water, try to get 10 minutes of exercise every hour all day, not sit for longer than 20 minutes at a time, track all your food, never eat any carbs without protein, and not make any excuses. If you do this, you will succeed.

    Exercise really helped me. What about some type of aqua jogging class?

    Keep positive Alicia, don't mess with low carbs or any pills- neither is a good option.
    Double check your calorie intake range on SP and eat sensibly. Try upping your cardio or ST to improve your metabolism. But above all don't do anything without checking with your doc- your condition and any meds associated with it could affect you in ways you hadn't thought of emoticon emoticon
