So, I'm not really sure how this goes, but I'll give it a shot!
I never thought I had an issue about my weight until recently. I met my husband about two years ago and I was about 172 pounds at 5"8, so relatively slim. At the time I bought slimming tablets off amazon and my husband went mental but I couldn't see his side. I was too lazy to put the exercise in and tablets were all the range but if course they are dangerous and not the right way to go. After I'd come to my senses I realised he was right. I then had my son October 2015 and went up to my biggest ever. I managed to get down to 203 pounds and lost a further 14 pounds from exercising and slightly changing my diet so that put me at about 189 and I've recently lost 4 pounds so I'm at 185.
When I hit 189 I came to a bit of a plateau. I had to re-evaluate the way I ate and exercised and I began to realise how my weight had always been an issue to me. This was mainly because I had skinny friends and I was always the "fat friend". It took me a while to realise I was the only one who thought this and my friends didn't care, they loved me for me not how well I looked in clothes. Even now, I catch myself in the mirror and wince but now I'm aware of it I can control it in the sense I won't let my weight get the better of me. I'm very much a believer in that there are other people out there who are worse off and I should be grateful but I also understand that everyone has their own battle and mine is to avoid the temptation of self hate.
I have a loving husband who is very understanding and I can be entirely open to, so when I do have a bad day and get tempted by a quick fix, I shake it off and tell him and he reminds me of how beautiful I am to him and that's all that matters. My friends are also amazing and encourage me to go running and swimming. Without these people I would fail time and time again and I would end up in the spiral of an eating disorder.
This app is also its own little support network and so far so good!
