On the other hand

(If you're like me, that title would have made you think of Fiddler on the Roof)

Having a longer contract is nice, but the hour commute in each direction is a bit annoying.

Eating two meals at home daily is nice, the outside lunch is showing on the scale.

Actually, I kind of wonder if it might be the coffee. The waking up nice and early in order to make the commute, and having a Dunkin Donuts between home and the highway has led to my actually stopping at said Dunkin Donuts on a semi regular basis. And though I've only had donuts (the munchkins) on one occasion, I'm grabbing an iced coffee pretty semi-regularly. Either way, the scale is essentially at 215, not happy making. Not getting to the gym isn't helping that cause. After making that (usually longer) commute homeward (because of the direction and timing of said journey), I'm often exhausted by the time I do food. Case in point last night when I passed out by 6:30 PM. Slept in until 6:30 this morning, which made for about 10 good hours of sleep when factoring in the time I spent awake during the three times I did wake at night.

I'm just rambling here, don't mind me. This isn't a "oh, woe is me" entry, nor a "oh this time for real I'm gonna spark up and lose weight" diary, it's just a State of the Partha address, a snapshot of the moment to look back at later and compare to whatever state I find myself in when that lookback occurs.

If I wanted to, there's plenty of other things I could complain about, starting from the obvious (election stuff) to bands always skipping Detroit to play midweek shows in Cleveland (what's up with that??). But there's always the next entry for that.
