Still Keeping at it

I have gotten myself into a routine of being outside by 8am and walking 1 -2 miles. I walk for at least 30 minutes to start the day. My fitbit is now synced to SP so it keeps track of all my active time and I don't have to worry about starting a heart rate monitor all the time. That is really nice.
I am still eating really good portions, but I do allow myself a treat here or there as long as I have burned enough calories to do it.
I am exactly where I should be according to my doctor. I have lost 4 pounds in the last 8 weeks. She said to keep it off, you should lose 1/2 lb a week. My clothes are all getting bigger. Jackets I couldn't zip 3 months ago are now big.
I still do the Fitbit challenges everyday and work really hard to keep up with the others. I have increased my daily step goal from 5,000 steps to 8,000 steps, but I have been managing over 11000 steps a day. Usually somewhere around 12 or 13,000. It is a great motivator.
I am getting out to the barn regularly. JC and I are actually working together as a team. I am learning this "new" show horse I have and how to deal with his "moods". He is more than I could ever have imagined when I put him back into training. He will never be an easy horse and will always be a challenge, but I am beginning to feel like the rider I used to be. I don't have the panic moments with him anymore. When he decides to pull a "JC"... if he has to choose between fight or flight he is definitely a flight horse... I am learning how to bring him back to me and calm him down.
My trainer has me riding in these big group lessons when I can get there on Saturdays. They will definitely prepare me for the show ring next year. There are some crazies in there. Keeps you on your toes every second.
I am actually doing it!!!
