Spent seven hours walking through the International Quilt Festival yesterday. Lots of good stuff to see, and I managed to (almost) stick to my budget. Of course, my bank got confused when I went shopping in Texas, Virginia, and Hawaii all in an hour.
One of the booths had fabric kits for Quilts Beyond Borders - a charity that sends quilts to kids in need. Since there's not a set deadline, I picked up 3 to complete. The fabrics are a bit all over the place - I'm sure some are sheets. These are good projects to complete using my great-grandmother's machine...it needs to be run.
The block for Wednesday - Triplet - uses the Dalek fabric. The pattern claims it only makes one block - the pattern lies.
Thursday's block - Road to the White House - uses the beautiful batik paisley fabric. I really like the look of this block.
Friday's block - Hobson's Kiss - was completed after a very long day of Quilt Festival and football game. The team's first (and only) home win this season. I didn't get to stop all day. I used some of my new fat quarters from festival to complete the block.
Today's block - Five Spot - uses a beautiful dogwood flower print. I like this block, but my favorite part was the 3 hour nap I took after finishing it.
