Beck Ch Day 35 Get Ready to Weigh In

Calculate a reasonable weight loss for the week.
Weigh in.
Record the results.

Doesn't that sound easy? Reasonable? Rational?

The scale had a powerful hold on me. I gave the scale the power to define me. Successful, failure, weak, strong, determined, quitter. When the scale had that power over me, I felt powerless. Since Beck, I'm more at peace with my journey. I've learned to deal with the results no matter what happens.

Look at your tracking for the week. Over calories? Sodium up?
Can you expect a reasonable 1-2 lb. loss?
Recognize that fluctuations are normal.
Don't give in to blame and negative thoughts. Last week's behavior is in the past.
See the scale as a tool. A compass that can point me in the right direction.
My journey can be 99% successful but result in a gain because of a 10 minute lapse.
Remember to take credit and celebrate the 99%. This is crucial to success!
It is unrealistic to expect a perfect journey every week. It's okay to be human. One week does NOT determine your entire journey.
You've already won. You can slay dragons. You've lost over 35 lbs. You are healthier and happier than you were before you started.
No matter what the scale says, you know what to do.
The scale has NO CHOICE, as long as I continue my journey.

I feel powerful!

    I didn't like the scale this morning, but it reflects a week that I didn't like either. Emotional eating is my biggest enemy and it came on in force this week. Oh well. Name it. Move on. Thank you for blogging.
