Almost 6 months to the date!

May 4, 2016 is a date I will not soon forget. That is the day that my wife and I attended the weight loss seminar given by my surgeon. I was in a wheelchair, depressed, with no real hope that i would ever walk again. The doctor gave his presentation and then personally took time to talk to anyone who had any questions. I asked him to come talk to me, not knowing that my life was about to change right then and there. As we were talking about my conditions, he asked what I saw 5 years from then in my current condition. I told him I couldn't imagine. He asked if he could be blunt with me and I said sure. The words that came next scared me greatly, "5 years, dead from a massive heart attack". I was in utter disbelief for about 5 seconds until he said "You can change that, and I want to help you change it". My wife and I took our weight loss binder and headed home. We talked all the way home about what we had just listened to and decided by the time we got home that changes had to be made right then and there.

Our life has changed! This is not a diet, like all the other attempts over the years, this is a complete change of life for good! Tomorrow will be exactly 6 months since that seminar. As of today, I have lost EXACTLY 100 pounds! I have not felt this good or been this healthy EVER in my life! I weighed over 300 pounds by the age of 12, graduated at 475 pounds and have been morbidly obese most of my life until now! I am astounded with the results that, not just me, but that my whole family, has accomplished since that day! This achieved wellness and lifestyle is not a phase, it is a change that is here permanently! I can actually see my goal weight just over the horizon, and I am determined to sprint all the way to the finish line!

I could not have done any of this on my own, I had to have a great team in place to help me achieve what I have. So, I have to thank my beautiful and loving wife for all her support over the years. I also need to thank my friends and family who have been there with me through all the ups and downs. Most of all, I need to thank Our Heavenly Father for everything He has helped my family through and for His loving kindness and strength that He has supplied. None of this could have been accomplished without Him!
