Closet Shopping ... & Eating (Not in the Closet)

I have a giant stack of jeans in my closet ranging from size 10 to 16. Every once in awhile after weight loss/gain, I go through them.

Yesterday I realized the 10s are still too small. That's not very surprising. But all the 12s are working well, and the pair I'm wearing today is bordering on large. (They're Old Navy, which I think runs large, but whatever I'll take it!) Of course the goal is to get back into the 10s, but that'll take some time.

In the meantime, I am eating everything in sight. Yesterday was a bad nutrition day simply due to oversnacking. Thankfully I only have this problem (heeeeeyyyyyyyy, hormones!) a few times a year at most (how do you normal women do this every month?!) and today I feel more in control than I did yesterday. The ugly truth was that yesterday I munched on two half donuts (one chocolate, one pumpkin) that someone was evil enough to bring in for the morning, then garlic bread leftover from a catered lunch (like, 4 pieces worth), then after dinner I had both Nutrisystem cookies and a mini ice cream cone. I just couldn't stop!

On the upside, I ran 2.5 miles after work and went to boot camp in the morning so maybe that'll help a little bit. Also I seem to have lost a full pound overnight somehow, which sounds like good news until I also mention that the scale was up 2.5 pounds two days ago. Which goes to show (a) why scales are stupid (b) why I shouldn't weigh myself every day, and (c) why hormones and water retention suck.

Like I said, feeling more controlled today and this should pass soon ... and not happen again for ~6 months if I'm lucky. :)

    Ah, I love the closet shopping!!! lol. I'm so glad I hung on to the favorite pieces of my old stuff.

    And, sympathy on the hormones. I think I'm going to be there in a couple days (for the third time in a row, it'll be ahead of schedule. :-/ I've read weight loss can cause a little havoc with the hormone levels as they adjust downward, so I'll live with it until it evens out again). I should buy some red wine, that'll keep me out of the chocolate an ice cream at least.

    Anyway, enjoy your reprieve! lol. And, yes, weighing too much is a head trip we could probably all do without.

    Can't wait to get back into my 14's , but good for you getting into your 12's. Congrats. Hormones are awful, I am going thru menopause so trouble everyday for years. My husband needs a vacation. Did I mention my son is 16 and puberty is also tough.

    A little over indulging is ok. I have heard not to deny yourself because when you finally do give in it really wreaks havoc. Yes having the hormones we do is not fun at all.

    I hear you...hormones It will get better, at least your in 12s now, sounds like we have same goals. I was in 16s, just hit 12s and they are getting loose..hooray
