Change of Thinking

Throught my mobile chat, other teams, I noticed a continueing thread with the struggle to reach goals of weight loss. One thought that stuck with me that I've seen multiple times is maybe it is the goal that is the struggle. We have challenges to help with weight loss and set a finite goal of weight to lose. Weight loss is the absolute goal but what I've seen on Spark People is that our goal is to be healthy by our diet and exercise as well as developing positive thoughts. The weight loss will follow.
I try to make that healthy diet and exercise as well as developing positive thoughts my goals. But years and years defining who I am by that scale is ingrained in me. Getting on the scale and seeing ounces rather than pounds lost gets me upset after I worked so hard gets me anxious.
Fact of the matter is that I lived a life with unhealthy habits and I give up too easy. If I don't see immediate results I want to throw in the towel. Really trying hard this time stick with it.
