Sunday . . the end is not in sight

Sunday, October 16, 2016

By no means is this an "official" rain gauge, but I think you'll get an idea of how much rain we've had since DH put this bucket outside his garage last Friday. . . just 2 days ago.

Yep, that's 9 inches.

We are very thankful the 100 mph winds dissipated as they passed over the mountains between us and the coast. The valley we live in was spared the high winds, and our trees are still standing. Yeah!

But the coast was pretty much ravaged . . and still under water in some places. Three waterspouts became tornadoes and really slammed them. The Coast Guard station displayed hurricane flags. No one remembers that ever happening before.

Right now there is a lot of snow happening in the mountains around us . . . but no snow in the forecast at our elevation. another Yeah! Maybe the ski resorts will have a good season!

Despite a flew power flickers caused by downed trees around the area, we're thankful to be safe.

And a big salute to the weather forecasters who made us aware of what could have been. I'm really glad they were wrong!

I haven't been able to go out for a walk (too dangerous to walk under the trees) so I've been using the elliptical and treadmill . . . . plus chasing Bad Leroy Brown around insdie the house . . . Yorkies need their exercise too!

Hope you're having a great weekend!!! What did you do???
