My doctor told me to lose weight slowly. So get excited when you 'only' see a pound or two coming off. This allows your skin to adjust at the same time as the rest of your body. I lost 22 lbs since last year and she was EXTREMELY happy with me. I was wishing it were more, of course. But I suppose she's right!
Exercising and eating right, drinking lots of water, etc, are all great for helping. I am afraid still, however, of having loose skin at the end of my journey as well, and I certainly can't afford surgery (not to mention how scary/dangerous it can be)... my thinking on it is, better to have loose skin, than to have the same skin filled with fat, and all the health risks that come along with that. 1640 days ago
LJCANNON What Sara said is Spot On!! I'd also say to be sure to Stay Well Hydrated, and Invest in Good Skin Lotion. You are young, so you will likely have less loose skin than I do, but it will be worth it!! Dealing with it will be easier than dealing with the Health Issues related to the Extra Weight. 1641 days ago
I've always been fearful of the same thing. This is why I decided to lose slowly and do strength training at least 3 times a week. I have some loose skin around my arms, but then again, I am a lot older than you, so don't let this fear stop you from getting healthier. Like they say, getting healthy is a lifestyle, it's not about dieting! Or something like that! 1641 days ago
