Sister Birthdays, Bad C and Crazy Work
Wednesday, October 12, 2016
Today is my sister-closest in age birthday and yesterday was the next closest sister's birthday. They are one day less than a year apart. I emailed Liz, the younger, yesterday and she replied. Those few sentences are just about the extent of our current relationship, but it beats years of silence. (it's complicated.) Mary has not replied today, but she doesn't communicate often and I hope she was celebrating with her family, so I am not hurt.
Another lesson today about the precious value of life and time. I learned today that someone I knew through work died. ^&(*&^ Cancer. He worked for the file storage company that is our primary vendor for this service. He was always cheerful, always happy to be busy and we chit chatted about the local sports teams and enjoyed the casual friendship. I had not seen Phillip in several months but I assumed he had been assigned a different route. I was stunned to learn he is gone and immediately cried. I pray for his coworkers, his friends and loved ones. I will miss him!
I frequently interact with the maintenance employees and others who work around the campus. I will make a stronger effort to make those connections. Every one of us has skills, talents and abilities that enrich others. A word of encouragement is never a waste of time!
I am juggling crazy projects at work. I love what I do, but I could sure do with just a little less. That does not mean I need to be unemployed. LOL!
I have nothing positive to say about my SP journey, so I am silent....
