Just call me Paula Bunyan, lol

We had a large ash tree in the back yard that had wind damage from a storm a few weeks ago, and today was the day to take it down. Mind you, cutting it down was the easy part...it's all the clean up afterwards that's hard! Oh, my goodness. Six and a half hours of snipping branches and hauling branches while dear hubby chainsawed like a fiend...ya, we both got some lumbar pain now! (Thank goodness for bubble baths!) But, it certainly was good exercise, and a lovely fall day to do it. Now if I can just figure out how many calories I burned...do you suppose Paul and Babe even gave that a thought? Naw....they were too busy working and eating flapjacks, lol.

Wow, I love reading about both of these tree-clearing adventures!

We have woods and farmland so most tree tales are more about clearing those that fall on fences or just fall. When we sold my old house, there was a GIANT oak down in the back yard - I'll see if I can find a picture. Luckily for us my guy knows all the local folks (grew up there), and we found a couple of guys who would clear it away for I think $300.00 if we let them have the wood. You bet we did!

You are so funny! Even funnier... Mr. and I did exactly the same thing a year ago... two large (60-footers) elm trees that had completely outgrown the spaces they were in and had to be removed before they caused damage to the surrounding areas. It took us 18 hours to cut them down, chop them up and load them onto a truck. We did the last three hours in the dark. The next day we had to haul it all to the city green recycling area and UNLOAD it all. Thank goodness we work well together and enjoy being outside.

Enjoy the bubble bath... and maybe some wine (whine?)! These are extraordinary circumstances, LOL!
