October 9, 2016 BOLDLY CONFESS

It's not always easy to admit when we have done wrong. It's not always easy to tell others how we have messed up. However, the Bible tells us we should confess our sins. Confess them to God and to others. When we confess our sins, we will feel peace. We will have freedom. And, most importantly of all, God will hear our prayers and heal us. If we want to be truly righteous, we need to boldly confess our sins.

James 5:16 "Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results." (NLT)

Dear Lord, we know none of us are perfect. We have all done wrong. We know many choose to hide their sins. We know many choose to not talk about what they have done wrong. However, we also know that hiding our sins hurts us. Hiding our wrong can eat at us inside. We pray today You will help us to boldly confess our sins to each other and to You. We want to see the wonderful results You promise when we live a righteous life for You. In Jesus' name. Amen.

It is possible to boldly confess our sins when we put our trust in God.

We can live a righteous life when we confess our sins and pray for each other so we may be healed.

God wants us to confess our sins to Him and to each other so we can live in peace.

It may seem hard to tell others what we have done wrong, but wonderful results will come from God when we do.

If we want to receive mercy, we need to confess our sins and turn from them.

Proverbs 28:13 "People who conceal their sins will not prosper, but if they confess and turn from them, they will receive mercy." (NLT)

Focus: Boldly confessing our sins will free us from turmoil, bitterness and stress.
