Slacking

I've noticed I've been slacking on entering my nutrition lately. I've been so busy with work and trying to get housework done when I come home, it's been the last thing on my mind. I feel bad I've been slacking on it. There just doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day for me to do everything.

    One thing a hard worker, a mother and a wife seldom does is think of herself first. This time, you need to. The most important part of being successful at maintaining a budget, just like maintaining and/or reducing your weight, is tracking. If you do not track and set a plan to reduce either, your bills will be late and unfortunately, the weight will stay on.

    Harsh? Not trying to be. I am trying to help. You need to look at that tracking chart just like you look at your financial plan, you have so many calories a day to spend and if you do not track, how do you know whether you are now at a deficit? If you do not track and you do not lose weight, you will shortly become frustrated and give up.

    So find the 5 minutes at lunch time to log in and kick in what you had for breakfast and lunch - there is a phone app. You have a family, so more than likely you have to plan dinner. I know I do. Go ahead and put in what you think you are going to eat and drink. That way when you get home and you are rushing to get food on the table, you know how much you SHOULD eat to stay in your calories. Later, before you turn out the lights, update anything different.

    Only then can you see where you are going wrong if you are not losing weight and only then can you be successful at this. You started for a reason; keep that reason in the forefront of your thoughts and be a little selfish and put you first for a little. And do not forget, heavy cleaning counts as a workout too.

    Keep trying! I want to see you be successful.

    You can only do what you can do. When you have time, I'm sure you enter when you can. Just don't give up! Just think, when life slows down you'll probably get bored. 😄

    Life is so busy, you can't beat yourself up over not tracking. One of the things I like the best about what I have learned here is portion control and sizes. When life is so busy I can now just look at my plate and see that I have a fist size of protein and the rest is veggies and I know I'm good. Don't get me wrong, I know that tracking is really really important and key here, but you also have to know those other alternatives too. You're doing great holding down a job and everything else!

    Don't worry.It just takes time until you find your routine to manage everything.If I have time, I prepare my food and freeze it! My fast food is a huge salad bowl. No cooking and the dressing comes with the salad. emoticon emoticon
