Sunken Gardens-St. Petersburg, Fl
Wednesday, September 28, 2016
This is a little gem of an attraction in the heart of St. Petersburg, FL. It was made about 100 years ago and they host many weddings. I hope you enjoy some of the beautiful sights we saw.
DH & I at the entrance to the gardens.
DH & Sonny enjoying a short break in a shady area as it was quite warm.
One of the beautiful flowers we saw.
Chilean flamingos
This is a waterfall tucked away in one corner.
Several different areas had koi-some they said were up to 100 yrs old and they were huge.
At one point we got to walk across the bridge over a koi pond.
There were several parrots and other birds in different areas of the park.
This sign tells about the growing stone.
This is the 4 of us sitting on the growing stone-Vickie & I are hoping it helps our green thumbs!
Staghorn fern growing on a palm
This is a rainbow palm-something we had never seen before.
If any of you ever get in this area, I highly recommend taking a couple of hours to see these Gardens. It isn't expensive and if you enjoy anything about plants you will enjoy the time here.
