Sadness in my Heart
Saturday, September 10, 2016
Yesterday afternoon, I attended the funeral service and burial of my son's baby who was not carried to term. In my role as grandmother of this little girl child named Evelyn Colette, I carried flowers and tears as I was offered and accepted to sit on one of the green fabric-draped chairs near the little white casket.
My son and daughter-in-law lost another baby girl named Ella Lee not so long ago on March 5th, 2014.
There is sadness in my heart. Yet we are thankful for and experience joy in watching their soon to be 4 year old (tomorrow on 9/11 is her birthday) and their 1 year old son.
Here within our Spark community, I recently set an aim in the BLC32 Challenge "to balance the many roles (one of my many roles - that of a grandmother) I find myself in while working to lose 12 pounds." And I also set an intention to process this journey by writing and journalling.
NOTE: to READINGGAL (Diane) dear sister, if by chance you read my blog, I would ask that you do not post condolences on Facebook due to their preferences in their grieving time.
