Side effect of hormone balancing that I did not expect

Thursday, September 08, 2016

Here I am 49 years old in year 6 of perimenopause. Since this year I had gone without my periods for 5 months I actually thought I am finally getting to the end of perimenopause. After all my hormone check last year showed the hormone levels in the Menopause range. Also every medical book I own - remember I am a nurse - tells me perimenopause takes 3-5 years on average. Since I started the fat loss diet to balance my hormones I suddenly have been getting my periods again and regular. Nit amused since I really had been hoping I am almost through with perimenopause. It gas been a VERY bumpy ride for me and I have not enjoyed it. Now am trying to come to terms that perimenopause is here to stay with me for another couple of years. But so far I am not stressing about it. I am unhappy about it but not uptight. I am happy with all the other positive changes in my body due to the hormone levels balancing out.

menopause is a fickle thing, it sometimes seems like it is in full force and then not at all. I hope this transitional time goes ok for you. I'm past menopause and so thankful that I am. Life is wonderful after this stage in your life. emoticon

I hope that the positive changes will balance out the disappointment of having to deal with more perimenopause. emoticon

I am so happy for all the positive changes you have made but am sorry you are going through all the issues with perimenopause...Because everything seems to be presenting itself as your normal cycle I am hoping this will pass soon for you. It sure can be a struggle, but I must say you are handling this well! emoticon

I sure can identify with you. I have had a lot of hormone issues the past few years but things are improving and I soon will be off hormone replacement therapy. They have helped me termendously but its time to put that behind me now. Just want you to know I care and will keep you in my thoughts & prayers...

Cheering you on your journey, keep up the great work... emoticon emoticon

I had an emergency hysterectomy when I was 42 and now I'm 45 and I've always been on the slimmer side all my life until now. I've gained 50 pounds and struggling to drop the weight. It's a real struggle. Hot flashes are horrible without help.

Try to relax. As your cycle began in its own time, it will completely finish the same way.
