Septembers Goals

Friday, September 02, 2016

August was not the best month for achieving my goals. Although I did stick to my water intake of 8 cups per day as a minimum & ate 5-6 servings of freggies daily, & started adding walking on my breaks, I just seemed to gain weight each time I stepped on the scale. Although I started out at 181.3, by the end of the month my weight had increased to 187. emoticon

My blood sugar did improve with the new meds, even having many readings under 100, but once I ran out of med my sugars have been hovering in the 200 range. But then I've been trying to get the RX filled for my weekly diabetic injection medication for the past 3 weeks with no success. It seems the insurance is requiring a prior authorization which still I'm awaiting to be done by the Endo's office. emoticon I did get some samples yesterday from the Dr so hopefully by the time these are used, then the RX problem will be sorted out.

To achieve my weight loss goal for September, I need to make some positive steps. Here are my goals for the new month:

*Continue my daily water intake of 8-10 cups daily
*Focus on 5-6 servings of FREGGIES daily
*Strive for 6- 8 hours of sleep each night (this is my great challenge)
*Monitoring my BS more closely, checking 2-3 times daily
*Work to get my BS levels down under 180 after meals & under 140 FASTING
*Adding walks in my day, will start with short 10 minute sessions & build up from there
*Lose from 187 down to 183.

I'm ready to get myself back on track & see some positive results on the scale & with how my clothes fit & improvements with my BS. emoticon I just have to keep pushing.

You have a lot to balance trying to keep your BS balanced. I hope you can get the insurance company issues sorted so you can use the the medication that works for you. I like your goals. They are basic for good health so I'm sure your pounds will eventually decrease.

It's frustrating dealing with insurance and the Dr.'s office in trying to get prior authorization. I know how frustrating that is first hand! You did well though with your BS#'s while you were on the medication. You also did really well with your freggies, water and walking. I think you have set some SMART goals to achieve this month. I know you will be successful! emoticon emoticon

I am sorry for your frustration with your weight during August. I have been having similar problems this summer so I know how frustrating it is. How irritating that you are having such a problem getting your injections pre-authorized. You have some great goals for September and i wish you the best of luck with your BS readings! Hang in there! emoticon emoticon emoticon

I hope you get your authorization soon.
Just keep working on your goals Donna and try to keep your BS levels in check.
Maybe the new meds are causing the weight gain. You can do this.
Good luck and have a great September. emoticon emoticon

There is a reason why you gained the weight and hopefully that will get sorted out this month. How frustrating it must be when you can't get your blood sugar regulated because of the insurance pre-approval taking so long! But beyond that you had a lot of good accomplishments during August with your water intake, freggies and walking. You made some SMART goals for September and I know you can accomplish them! emoticon emoticon
