Motivation, Contemplation, Implementation, Procrastination. Trepidation Expectation

Monday, August 29, 2016

I am reflecting back on past two months of summer and realizing how much the loss of my beloved WW Community has impacted me. It was to have been a joyous time of achievements and celebration with making goal weight Memorial Day week-end and then Lifetime status Independence Day week end.

Here it is now coming up on Labor Day week end and I am feeling a might bit tossed to and fro from temporal refuge islands of Round Tables , Turtle Clubs, WW Friends and now dipping my toe into Spark People.

Motivation: This has not really waned luckily, I continue with eating healthily , tracking 30 points daily and sporadically utilizing weeklies here and there.

Contemplation: With the money I saved on monthly membership fees for WW, I had contemplated adding an additional class or two each week.

Implementation: This I did in August I added one more Feldenkrais on Saturday mornings and two new Water aerobics classes on Wed & Fridays at no cost. The extra Feldenkrais is an additional $11 per week or $44 per month which is what I was paying for my WW monthly pass.

Procrastination: I am procrastinating on both cleaning my house and preparing for my upcoming three week vacation. I love a clean house, but elected over a year ago to give up my housekeepers of every other week and put their service fees toward weekly yoga classes, Feldenkrais instructions, massages, manicures and pedi appointments! So how does a gal keep nice nails and do her own housekeeping?

Trepidation: I am anxious about upcoming vacation with seeing family being 82 pounds lighter. They know I am a WW, but I have not shared that I no longer eat sugar or flour as I don't want them concerned over meal preparations, etc.

Expectations: I am hoping that getting back to blogging will help stabilize my resolve to maintain my newly acquired LifeTime status. It is my expectation that settling into my newly established routine once I return from vacation the first week of October I will be able to keep nice nails and have a clean home!

Day 4 here with SparkPeople and already sparking, guess I am a survivor. Have a great week my fellow sojourners!

Spark People is beginning to feel like home--so glad we have found a good place.

Our families respond in so many different ways--I got everything from "did you lose weight, I can't tell" to you better go to your doctor because you look terrible"

I would let them know about your no sugar& flour, but also tell them you'll manage

For nails--my WW fees went to nails done every month I keep LT. I also do gel manicure because it lasts 3-4 weeks (even with my own cleaning and gardening). Also, I always get French because the growth does not show like a color does.

Ahh.... procrastination.... I work best under pressure.... LOL But it is worth it to come home to a clean house.

Like Joyce , I have gone to getting just pedicures as the mani's don't last...EXCEPT.... the last 2 times I did get my nails done I got GEL manicures. They are 100% dry when you leave and they last just about 3 weeks. Check those out for your hands for the trip.

WW dropping the blogging has certainly upset the rhythm of the blogging, but I really do feel this is a good fit here. I may even spring for the premium to declutter the ads.

Enjoy your visit with family and just WOW them, I think the no sugar/no flour thing will be hard, but even if you tell them, they probably won't listen/get it or know how to work around it, so I am sure you will find a way to navigate.
    And yes..... NOLA calls! LOL

I'm a procrastinator -- my house still needs dusting....

Your blog shows that when a change needs to be done, you find a way to do it.

I used to have acrylic nails, but had them removed when The Husband retired. I went for mani's, but they begin to fall apart after 4 days. Now I either ignore them or paint them myself. Toes I'm not giving up.

Your family is going to be OH SO SURPRISED!!! and proud of you. emoticon

It sounds like you've got everything worked out already considering how succinctly you have shared these concerns. Congrats again on Lifetime and reaching (and surpassing) your healthy goal weight. I'm with you on the "don't get others fretting" over food. I will find what works for me and prefer they leave that worry to me! Have a great vacation and hope you can drop down to NOLA when "we" are there!!

First of all, prepare your house and yourself for the coming storms - I was shocked to see 3 coming your way. As far as the vacation goes, prepare yourself when they don't recognize you - I have a feeling that you'll get lots of stunned looks and many questions. As far as the no flour/no sugar concerns, so many folks are going gluten free or leaving sugar behind, it will probably be a "me too" kind of moment. The menus are filled with gluten free options, and you can go vegetarian or lots of salad or fish. I suggest "old fashioned" rubber gloves to protect the manicure. I just finished cleaning my bathroom and kitchen so I definitely sympathize. As well as the fact that I do a better job than she did and it gets me $150 back in my pocket each month. Have a great day!

I understand procrastination the very best of all your "ations". I have never told my family (other than my daughters, who are like minded) that I don't eat sugar and flour. I just avoid those foods when I am with them for the most part. However, maybe I should say it out loud to them because I slide a bit when I am with them, not much, but a little. It is enough, always, to remind me why I don't eat those foods, but I know it is a slippery slope to indulge a bit once in a while. I admire you and others who totally, completely abstain.
