SODIUM: Will do me in!

Monday, August 29, 2016

I know I need to watch my sodium and I do great when I eat at home but when I want to go out with friends or family I am done in! It is the end of my summer vacation and I have been meeting up with friends for lunch and my one daughter and I met up with my daughter and her boyfriend at Noodles and company. I got a bowl and only ate half and took the rest home to eat later which I did and woke up this morning and my shoes will not fit and I gained 5 pounds in one day!
I get so upset that I can't eat like a normal person! 5 POUNDS in ONE day!!!!!!! I will be drinking water like mad today and really watching my sodium and I know the weight will go back down in a day or two but it's just the thought and the why???? I know now no matter what I can not go there to eat so another place I can't meet up at. Oh well I guess if I would have taken better care of myself in younger years I would not have to worry about this. CHF is nothing to play around with. It's been 10 years you would think I would be use to it by now but it still upsets me that I have to say no or eat something I don't really want to eat but it's low sodium... Ok complaning time is over SORRY I just had to get it out.

I too love salt & salty foods. My legs and feet are VERY swollen. Went to primary doc this morn and that
was her major question,,,How much salt do you use? But that is not the cause of the swelling, going
to have some more tests done.
Going out to eat is a problem, one you're going to have to think of ways you can avoid the salty stuff. We just have to be thankful our situations are not as horrific as what others are going through.

Did you remember to plan ahead like you said you were going to? What better choices should you have made and

what will you do next time?
