Taking it off

Saturday, August 27, 2016

This week I made a healthy decision for me. I took off my pedometer. I was finding myself getting disappointed at the end of every day not making my steps. It was disheartening. I know there are other things I am doing to keep this weight off and still continue in the right direction and I did not need this daily sadness at the end of the day. So.....I took it off... that's right. It's tucked away until further notice.

On a happy note. I got my hours back at work that had been decreased and to boot it's permanent. We have been struggling trying to keep our Contact Center (It's a 2-1-1 information & referral call center) staffed. We have had people quit, move on to other positions etc. I took it upon myself to revise the schedule giving back our full time staff their 40 hours (they had dropped us down to 32), increased one part-timer to 32 and bam! All of the holes were covered. I also of course pleaded my case. 1.) Give people back the hours you took away that want to work. 2.) You won't have to train other people 3.) The hours can be filled immediately...etc...etc. So as of August 21st. I am once again back to full time as are the other three staff members that had their hours decreased. It's a win-win situation. Everyone is happy now including management because they no longer have to worry about the schedule unless someone calls off sick. And you know the thing that really sucked? It wasn't broke in the first place...and we've struggled for months and shouldn't have.

Just for kicks ~
