State of Slim - End of Week 1

Week 1 of State of Slim was FULL of trips emoticon , oops emoticon , and akks emoticon .

Eating 6 times a day is HARD!
One of the homework sheets for this past week was "list everything in your life that is hard because of your weight". It was HARD to write the list! But, I did, and reflecting upon that list, here are 10 of the things I wrote down:
1. clipping and painting my toenails.
2. finding cute clothes to wear and feel good in.
3. walking down stairs (up the stairs is not so hard..but down the stairs KILLS my knees)
4. feeling confident inside my skin
5. having stamina to do physical activity for longer periods of time
6. bending over
7. riding a bike
8. feeling proud of how i look
9. holding things on my lap
10. sitting in an airplane seat comfortably

looking at this list, it hurts my heart to see some of the things on there. I have known for a long time I needed to do something, and now, I am and it feels so good to know I'm doing it! emoticon

This past week, I lost 4 lbs. emoticon I didn't focus on exercise this past week because I was trying to wrap my head around the food portion of this new way of life. Our meetings are on Wednesdays, so the new week starts today!

This week, my goals are:
-To bring more variety into my meals
Eating raw veggies and cold proteins isn't really for me, so I have to work on planning better and incorporating COOKED food into life again!
-To exercise 30 min a day for 6 days a week.
The goal for week 2 in the program is 15 min/day - 6 days/week, but I want to do 30.
-To prep my lunches every night for the next day
This goal also helps my hubby who packs our lunches in bags. He doesn't have to try to figure out what I can and can't eat.
-To log my food every day.
I've got a good handle on this i think. :)
-To journal at night.
I haven't been doing this so much, and I need to.

Week 2's homework includes getting inside yourself and figuring out your motiviation to lose weight.... peeling the onion to your WHY. And, working on changing your mindest from "victim" to "VICTOR". :)

All in all, week 1 was a SUCCESS for me. I have been able to stick to the food choices easily, I lost weight, and my mindset is still positive! emoticon
