Learning to overcome perfectionism

Nobody's perfect but we all strive to be our best. Some people set high standards for themselves but what happens when we don't do as well as aspected or reach our goals?
Step 1: Try to stop comparing yourself because everybody's life and circumstances are different. You are an Apple. They are an orange, and even if they were an apple, there are green apples, red apples, pink lady apples. You get the point. :)
Step 2: Don't be so hard on yourself, instead, make goals to improve. Make them reasonable
and if you can't improve something, that's okay. Don't let self-criticism rob of you of your joy of life.
Step 3: Remind yourself of your strengths/talents or areas you have improved your diet or maybe you are really good at talking to people or maybe you have a knack for numbers. Maybe you are a great athlete or good with animals, etc.
Step 4: The big picture. Life is short and having some joy is important. Allow yourself to experience joy without feeling guilty. Struggling is not a punishment that requires lack of fun or happiness as the consequence.
Overcoming struggles and perfectionism is going to be my long-term goal. There are many types of perfectionists and no what kind you are, try your hardest to let it hold you back in any aspect of life.
