What is the one thing that makes you feel good about yourself?

Mine is my hair !
If my hair looks good, then I can basically deal with anything else.
VANITY? I suppose so, but what the heck, if that is what it takes, so be it.

I noticed that when I was drinking my morning coffee. I wondered how my hair would look today. If I would need to wear my wig, one of two, which perfectly match my hair color. But what about when I took the wig off?

I think whatever you do to make you feel good and it does not harm others then go for it!!! Like you said there is a time for YOU and not worry what others think. If they are true friends it should not matter to them. My dearly departed lady-friend I cleaned for at one time would put her lipstick on daily, whether she was going out or staying home...she once told me, "Mother often said a little red paint on an old barn spruce's it up quite nicely" emoticon

My dogs make me feel good about myself. Their love is unconditional and they are so much comic relief! I have a refrigerator magnet that says, "May I grow into the person my dogs think I am". They can always make me feel better no matter how bad or good the day has been. That's maybe why dog is God spelled backward?

What I was getting at was for 50+years I have done for others. And, I would let myself go.
Then I discovered that if I didn't show pride in myself in some small way, I wouldn't be able to show others how to love themselves.

After all, doesn't a nice looking cupcake catches the eye of others than a drippy saggy one? And, you also can say so much non-verbal things. And, could be, if they are proud of the way you look,n they will want to listen and learn from you.

It may be vanity, but I have found that works for me, and the ones I reach out too.

Well.. One thing is when I had Cancer they told me to buy a wig.. I was loosing hair by the handful.. When my hubby washed it I would take it and put it in a bag and show the Doctor.. He told me that was just me.. and did I want to wear a wig.. My small victory over this was to pull what hair I had and twist it in a bun on top.. and pin it.. No one seem to care and I was happy that I was going to win this battle.. and I did.. I don't sweat the small stuff anymore... In His Love and Grace Just Me emoticon emoticon

Great question. I am known for my smile so I guess that's the one thing about me. I express myself through clothes. Hair - I am the natty, matty beach type

I agree with GOMYMICHELLE for doing good for someone, such as elderly, makes me feel better. Spending time each day realizing that our God loves us no matter what we look like to others.

I'm sorry I just lost my response. Maybe God intended that to happen. We shall see. THANK YOU anyway.

My son makes me proud of myself. He's what keeps going and brings out the best of me. I never really used to love myself or felt proud of myself as a teenager. I had him at a young age, he brought me to a better place. God bless him and God for that.

The thing that makes me feel good about myself, is making someone else feel good about themselves. Your hair doesn't change the person you are. You're a kind, caring, beautiful person no matter what your hair looks like. Keep smiling. ☺
