Our daughter, son-in-law took us up on Mount Lemmon for a picnic and a hike.
Lunch was by a stream and I was amazed of much sent the pine trees gave off. After 4 months in the desert, it was heavenly. I also saw my first yellow eyed junco. Much different looking than the Juncos I was use to in the Northeast.
We then drove further up towards the summit for a walk to the look out. Total walk was just under 3 miles. Through the woods, a meadow and more woods.
There was a devastating fire a few years back and it is taking time for the mountain to recover.
We had been watching a pair of hawks over the canyon and to my suprise one landed for a photo shoot. Made my day.
