You Look So Fit!

Saturday, August 13, 2016

Leaving the gym the other day someone called out to me "you look so fit!" I said "thank you" and as I walked it hit me......WOW! This is what I want. Not to have someone say "you look so thin or skinny" but you look fit. The main reason I decided yo lose weight was to get healthier and that was a function of losing weight and getting more fit.......stronger and able to walk and run longer I did it!!!

What was the motivation for you all? Was it just losing weight? Looking a certain way? Fitting in to a specific size?

Track. EXercise component is impotant, it shapes you, aids in wt loss & improves mood too. I'm feeling better too. :-) I've lost 21 lbs- almost no one has noticed enough to mention it. I'm waiting to hear the same comment: "you look so fit".

For me it was asking for help as a metabolic disorder/hormonally driven impaired my diet/exercise attempts. I'm working diligently to get back to my former slim healthy self. Using events coming ahead in my life as mile posts helps to keep me on

Compliments are so wonderful to receive and feels even better to give them! My reason for weight loss was to alleviate pain.........arthritis, knee replacements, Plantar fasciitis, bone spur and Achilles tendinitis. Day 5 sparking here, learning alot. I have added you as a friend, because I want to stick with winners here!

This is awesome. It's always nice to get a compliment, but to get one that hits on all that you've strived and worked towards -- even better!

    What a great compliment!
For me, the motivation comes from two things:
    (1) I'm just too heavy for my body. There's a yoga saying, "Your body is always talking to you. First it whispers, then it speaks ... eventually it screams." I wasn't meant to be this heavy, and my body's been telling me that for a while now. :)
    (2) I had a long-term medical problem that has improved over the past 18 months. This is great, of course, but I also have that feeling of, "Wow. Things really went to heck!" Fortunately, I feel like I can make changes and forge ahead now. It helps to see people in all stages here on SP--success stories, beginners, re-starters, maintainers ... I like it all.

Here's to your work and dedication!

My motivation to become the healthiest I can be was so that I could be "here" for myself first, and also for those I love. It's taken a while for the outside and inside to sync (I'm coming up on my 4th SparkVersary) but it's pretty much there now. It is a sweet and empowering feeling.
