Week 7 of 8 weeks away from home

Tuesday, August 09, 2016

This will be short as I need to sleep soon, but I just had to record how proud I am about my ability to stay on track this summer, despite being away from home and with almost constant eating at people's horses or out at restaurants. I think the big difference is that weight loss is a symptom of my efforts to live as though I am diabetic (though I am not yet pre-diabetic.) Somehow this strategy seems to keep me focused on the fact that any day I easy within my calories is a day where I have been successful. And every day where I exercise helps my blood sugar. This is keeping me motivated when I am down about how little change I notice with my body's shape. As for the side effect, I am not 100% of my weight because I don't have a scale so I have been weighing randomly at my Mom's house. However, it does look like I am down over 5 pounds since I have been here. Since I aim for 2 lbs per month, I am more than satisfied. I wonder if my husband will see any difference...

Nice going. That is not easy all summer eating out and at other places. Good on you for being your own champion! Doesn't matter if he doesn't notice, YOU KNOW!
